Art and Sailing

Photos from our travels with the Allen’s in December 2019.

Myanmar is well known for its lacquerware, which has a unique style and long tradition dating back to the 13th century Bagan. Made from molded bamboo strips, lacquerware is difficult and time-consuming. The process involves seven steps in all and can take from six months to a year for a single item to be finished.

To wrap up our visit to Bagan we took a sunset cruise on the Irrawaddy River.
